Be More Successful with A Faster Windows Operating System
Old PCs which comes with old Window programs are very likely to score low in the speed department. However, doesnt mean you must check the new PC models in your area.
Although not all people would agree, old PC programs are easier to use. Their conveniences lie in their own simplicity. It is normal for old PCs to be a little bit slow. But hey, if your PC is taking more than 15 minutes to boot up and another 10 minutes to load even a basic Microsoft Office program then something is definitely wrong. Try doing the following speed up Windows tips:
> Remove worthless applications.
Your PC might still be holding programs that have not been utilized for a long time. Scan the programs listed in the add/remove programs menu in the control panel. Delete the software you have not used for some time. Freeing up disk space will no doubt speed up your windows program.
> Update drivers.
Hardware drivers eat up minor space but they have a say on the speed of your Windows accessories. There have been a lot of improvements in the drivers of hardware over the years. Check Internet and find updates for them. This tip always speed up Windows 2000 and ME.
> Get rid of starting Windows message.
Windows 95 and 98 has this specific starting windows message that prolongs PC booting. Remove feature to speed up Windows 98. Access to C:\ and search for Msdos.sys, right click on it and deselect the read-only option. Access the file in Notepad, go over to text Options inside the file. Add: Add BootDelay-0. You may {choose to make your booting|want to change your PC booting speedier by setting add Logo=0 to take away the Windows logo during start-up.
> Optimize start menu.
Speed up Windows by having easy access to your start menu. Select on Start and access Run. Type Regedit inside the bar and hit Enter. Access the Registry editor folder named HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. If there is a MenuShowDelay, double click it and alter the value of data field to 0.
